Mommy's Helper Door Knob Covers What a great idea! Your little ones can reach the door knobs and are closer to turning them open everyday. The same idea that protects your babies from opening those pill bottles is used for the Mommy's Helper Door Knob Covers. The over-sized grip design spins loosely around the door knob when a child tries to turn it, yet is easy for adults to grip and squeeze to open the door. In addition, the Lock-Guard feature covers the door handle locking button to protect against accidental lock-outs.
Worked for a short while.Reviewed by Kim Thurlow, 2010-02-14
These worked for a short while, but my 3 year old son soon figured out how to take it apart and pull it off and open the middle to lock his own door.

I have a very active soon to be 2yr old and he is tall enough to unlock the top lock and bottom lock on the door. I felt on the edge all the time trying to make sure he has not unlocked the doors and is not trying to go outside. This product is perfect and it does a great job of keeping him in. He can still unlock the top lock but since he cant unlock the bottom thanks to the Mommy's Helper Door knob i don't have to worry about him trying to run outside. Also he has given up on trying to open the bottom lock because of the device so i am very happy about that. One thing i would suggest to parents that have children that can learn how to do something after watching you do it one time (like my son)...i suggest putting the knobs on while your child is playing in his/her room or watching tv you know somewhere they cant see you putting it together. I also suggest not letting your child see how you open the door with the knob cover on so that they wont be encouraged to try to open it your way. The knob cover in general was easy to put together but hard to take off and kinda hard to get your finger in there to unlock the door but i have the hang of it now so it's fine for me. Overall i feel the purpose is to make it hard for kids to get out the door so i have no problem with the difficulty of that. There is a snap cover in the middle of the knob cover that you snap open to unlock the door and snap close so little fingers cant get in there to unlock them...my son has not been able to snap the cover off at all so i look forward to buying more products from this company.
Too flimsyReviewed by Kurt Murray, 2009-07-03
The plastic is very thin and flexible. The result is that it doesn't take much pressure or strength to pop it apart and remove it completely from the door handle. Might work for toddlers, but I have an 8 year-old autistic girl and these are no match for her. We do have some Safety 1st handle covers that use a much more rigid plastic and they're able to withstand much more pressure and keep her from opening doors and getting into places where she could get hurt.
It does the job, keeps my 3 year old in the houseReviewed by Kevin Braun, 2009-06-29
This does work. It keeps my 3 year old from getting out. But locking and unlocking the door can be a hassle. And I think after a while he will figure out how to take it off the knob anyway. Worth the price and would recommend but like a lot of these things not perfect. Since he was going outside by himself the extra hassle with these is worth it though. His safety is our biggest priority.
great value for peace of mindReviewed by T Mama, 2009-06-13
i didn't realize how necessary these were until our boy could open doors. these make it so even the smartest tot can't figure these out and keeps em contained in one area. get extras to take on trips for hotels, grammas, etc...
