Great product for toddlers who insist on trying to electrocute
themselves!Reviewed by Kriss, 2010-02-24
I ordered these outlet covers after my 17-month-old son unplugged
my laptop, the cordless phone base, his baby monitor, the wipes
warmer, the lamps, my alarm clock, the DVD player, the Tivo, and
the Bose sound dock about 12,448 times. A person can only say "NO"
so many times in a day, before he shuts off his hearing &
defiantly does what he wants anyway. Kinda like his father. Oh, the
joys of parenting.
Anyway, these covers work great. They're a cinch to install, even
for a tool-challenged person such as myself. And there's no way he
can pry the covers off. *I* sometimes have a hard time
simultaneously pushing both buttons and pulling the removable piece
off.
I think it's been mentioned previously, but they won't work with
the decora-style rectangle outlets. Mine are the old style, with a
single screw in the middle of the two plugs, and they fit
perfectly. Just be aware that the picture shows them as being
white; but the ones I received are actually more of a sand color.
It didn't bother me at all; but if you're fussy about your light
switch plates matching your outlet covers, these may drive you
crazy.
Easy to install and easy to useReviewed by Brent Billock, 2010-02-03
This is keeping grabby hands off the cords plugged into my daughter's wall. It was very easy to install and does the job quite nicely.
Outlet and plugs cover for toddlers protectionReviewed by David Quinones, 2010-01-06
I agree with Genevieve Gibson, I have two girls toddler, and neither one have an interest in sticking their fingers in the electrical outlets, but definitely they like to pull plugs, specially the TV. This protector is a great idea, its very secure, its strudy and there is no way my daughters can open it to unplug the cables.
Perfect design. The kids are safeReviewed by TQ, 2009-12-15
This was exactly what I needed when trying to figure out how to protect the kids from the lamp in their room. It is propped behind a chair to prevent falling, but the plug was still a danger when they would crawl and explore that area. This completely stopped them from accessing the plug as well as allowing us to shorten the cord up, which also makes its tug-proof since it is wrapped inside. Overall an excellent design. I bought 5 and I like the way it dresses up the outlets so much that I might buy more just for covering unsightly cords for things like my TV center
Cord Holes too Small, but otherwise good productReviewed by T. Arteaga, 2009-11-11
Just like others have said, if you have things plugged in to the outlet you are trying to cover that have thick cords, this isn't going to work without some adjustment. Luckily, my husband was able to make the holes at the bottom bigger with some cutting (and since the plastic is sort of flexible, the unit did not crack). I hate having to do things like this to make it work, but all the oulet covers are the same way. It isn't the most attractive thing in the world, but I guess that really isn't the point. Once we got the adjustments made and got used to looking at it, it worked. My son can't pull the plugs out now, although he does still try to pull the cords at the bottom- but the electrical hazard is much less now.
